VIDES JAPAN is going to attend VIDES International meeeting scheduled on July 1st to 5th 2022 in Chiampino, Italy.
We are very looking forward to being there because for this occasion, we have chosen one of the “Best Practice” countries!
We are very honored to make a presentation about our activities in Japan and also an international volunteer in Cambodia.
About the contents of our presentation, we are going to talk about the following things…
-Japan in general : Catholic in Japan and the Potentials of Volunteer Work
-Our Local Activities : Collaborations with Local NPOs.
-Suggestions for You to Get Involved into Our Acitivities. :

Formation Camp
Here is what we have done in our formation camp online.
-Icebreaker : What You Have in Common
We did this icebreak to learn that in an international meeting, there are many people who have different kinds of backgrounds. So we should share what we have and find the common grounds and accept the differences.
These activity call the work of Holy Spirit too.
History of VIDES
We made an opportunity with young volunteers in VIDES JAPAN to prepare for International Meeting in 2022.
In this “formation camp”, we have learned about the hisotory of VIDES based on “VIDES- Un Progetto Per Giovani” by Sr. Maria Grazie Caputo on Google Earth.
We have summarized the book in Japanese here!!
Learn Case Studies from Other VIDES Groups
We have learned about the history of VIDES and also what other VIDES have done and are doing right now.
Especially we took a quick look at VIDES UK and Ireland because we have once accepted some volunteers from VIDES UK in Cambodia. In addition, one of the VIDES JAPAN volunteers have visited VIDES Ireland a couple of years ago.
Think of What Kinds of Impacts We Can Make as Volunteers
Finally we have talked about what we could do as VIDES JAPAN volunteers locally and globally.
As we have told you in the movie here, there are a lot of networks of Catholic Schools and Salesions in Japan although there are few Catholics in Japan.
Therefore, we can use the network of them and sread the volunteer work.
In Japan, we do not have “Charity” organization like UK and USA but we have “Non Profit Organization” called NPO and VIDES JAPAN is now making some of the collaborations with local NPOs including one which provide school meal for children in Malawi and also for children in Tokyo through VIDES JAPAN.
Japan has its ‘Charitable experience” through school meal so it could be nice for you to know it through our work as VIDES JAPAN in your future and join us to make our work better place!!
Hope we can make international relationships with you all in International meeting on July 2022 and continue to search for what we could do in the work of Holy Spirits, the fruits in diversity!!
VIDES JAPANは、2022年7月1日から5日にイタリアのチャンピーノで開催されるVIDES国際会議に出席する予定です。
私達VIDES JAPANは、この機会に「ベストプラクティス」の国の1つ選ばれたので、そこにいくことを非常に楽しみにしています！
日本での活動とカンボジアでの国際ボランティアについて発表できることを大変光栄に思います。

こちらが私たちがオンラインのFormation Campで行ったことです。
（Formation Campとは、国際会議に向けて各国が準備をする機会を指しています）
アイスブレイカー：私たちの共通点は何？
私達は、国際会議にさまざまな背景を持つ人々がたくさん参加することを踏まえて、このアイスブレイクを行いました。
私たちは自分たちが持っているものを共有し、共通の根拠を見つけ、違いを受け入れる必要があります。
これらの活動は聖霊の働きとも、考えられるでしょう。
VIDESの歴史
私たちは、VIDES JAPANの若いボランティアと一緒に、2022年の国際会議の準備をする機会を作りました。
このFormation Campでは、GoogleEarthを使って、Sr.Maria Grazie Caputoによる”VIDES-UnProgettoPer Giovani”に基づいて、VIDESの歴史について学びました。
本を日本語でも、その本の内容をまとめています。

他のVIDESグループからCase Studyを学ぶ
私たちは、VIDESの歴史と、他のVIDESグループが行ってきたこと、そして現在行っていることについて学びました。
特に、VIDES UKとアイルランドの活動についてみました。
その理由としては、以前VIDES JAPANが行っているカンボジアボランティアにVIDES UKからボランティアを受け入れたことが挙げられます。
また、アイルランドについては、VIDES JAPANのボランティアの1人が、数年前にVIDES Irelandを訪問したことがあり、どちらも関わりのある国です。
ボランティアとしてどのような影響を与えることができるかを考える
最後に、VIDESJAPANのボランティアとして国内、および国際的に何ができるかについて話しました。
動画でお伝えしたように、日本にはカトリック教徒はほとんどいませんが、日本にはカトリック学校やサレジアンの学校のネットワークがたくさんあります。
したがって、私たちはそれらのネットワークを使用して、ボランティア活動を広めることができます。
日本には英国や米国のような”Charity”という法人格はありませんが、NPOという「非営利団体」などがあり、VIDES JAPANは現在、マラウイの子供たちに学校の食事を提供する団体など、地元の団体と協力しています。
また、 VIDESJAPANがフードバンクと協力し、東京の子供たちのために活動を行っています。
日本では、学校給食の歴史をを通してCharityのことを知ることができるので、今後のVIDES JAPANの活動を通してそれを知り、一緒にボランティアができれば嬉しいです！
2022年7月の国際会議で皆さんと国際的な関係を築き、多様性の実りとして、聖霊の働きを感じることができればと思います！
